What are your strengths?
What they want to find out: Whether you know yourself, and whether your strengths fit the job.
The answer
One of my strengths is that I am organised. Last summer I worked in the warehouse of a building supplies store, and the pick lists were often in the wrong order. I made a simple overview of where the goods were and showed it to the other summer temps. After three weeks we had half as many picking errors. I like finding a better way to do things, and I think that fits this job with you well.
The check
- LengthGoodAbout 0:36 to say out loud. Just right.
- What you didGoodYou say «I» more often than «we». Then they hear what you did yourself.
- How it wentGoodYou include a number: «three». That makes the result clear.
No score. This is worked out from the text, and it says nothing about the content.
Three steps
Start practising
You get five common questions, and the first is «Tell us a little about yourself». Each question says what they want to find out.
Write your answer
A clock counts, but never stops you. If you get stuck, you can show a tip.
Get the check
You see the length, whether you say what you did yourself, and whether you include a number. Your notes are saved for the interview.

Job interview tips
- Read the ad again, and find the requirements they mention first. Have one example ready for each.
- Answer with something that happened: what the situation was, what you did, and how it went. Include a number if you can.
- Say «I» when you tell what you did. «We» says little about you.
- A good answer takes from half a minute to two and a half minutes to say out loud.
- Have two or three questions ready for them, such as what a normal working day looks like.
- What if they ask about something they are not allowed to? In Norway they may not ask whether you are pregnant or want children, or about religion, where you come from, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity. You do not have to answer, and we never practise questions like these.
