Ship visitor or diaconal worker in the Seafarers' Service

Sjømannskirken seeks an experienced and people-oriented professional to join the Seafarers' Service (Besøkstjenesten for sjøfolk), a 160-year-old ministry visiting Norwegian seafarers abroad. You will work independently from a home office in Norway, conducting approximately 110 ship visits annually in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, building relationships with seafarers and shipping companies, and supporting crisis response operations worldwide. The role requires strong relational skills, excellent English, a Norwegian driver's licence class B, maritime interest, and ideally experience in outreach work, Christian service, chaplaincy or pastoral care, though ordination as a priest is not required.
