Head Engineer

The Department of Physical Performance at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences seeks a Head Engineer for an 80% position (50% permanent, 30% fixed-term for two years from January 2027). You will manage and maintain state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, implement new technologies, develop custom data acquisition solutions, train students, and lead laboratory operations for an exercise physiology research group. Applicants should have university-level education in sport science, engineering or related field, experience with exercise physiology data collection including indirect calorimetry, strong technical and communication skills in Norwegian/Scandinavian and English, and demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
