Senior Automation Manager, Nørresundby, Denmark

Are you our new Automation Manager with a passion for technology, leadership, and scalable automation solutions?

At DESMI, you will play a key role in strengthening and scaling our automation capabilities across the organization. You will be part of product development & innovation leading a skilled engineering team in Denmark and China to develop reliable and future-proof automation solutions for both products and customized needs.

Working closely with Product Management, Projects, Production, and Service, you will ensure strong alignment between technical solutions and business requirements. You will be responsible for setting direction, creating structure across projects, and ensuring high quality delivery of automation solutions across DESMI’s global operations.

A glimpse into the role

You will lead a team of automation engineers while ensuring that our solutions are robust and aligned with business needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Team Leadership & Development: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing automation team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Project Execution & Prioritization: Plan, structure, and drive execution across multiple automation projects, ensuring clear priorities, efficient resource allocation, and on-time delivery.
Technical Direction & Quality Assurance: Set the technical direction for automation solutions across hardware and software, ensuring reliable, serviceable, and future-proof designs.
Operational Ownership of Automation Solutions: Oversee the development and maintenance of automation systems, translating business and product requirements into standardized, scalable technical solutions.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the key point of contact for stakeholders across Product Management, Projects, Production, and Service, ensuring alignment and clear communication on scope, expectations, and deliverables.
Process & Solution Optimization: Drive structured and transparent workflows across projects, continuously improving processes and enabling efficient and consistent delivery of automation solutions.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Support the ongoing development of DESMI’s automation portfolio by promoting a solution-oriented mindset and identifying opportunities for innovation and standardization.

We’re looking for an experienced and driven leader with a strong technical foundation in automation and a passion for developing both people and solutions. You thrive in a dynamic, international environment and are motivated by creating structure, driving progress, and delivering high-quality results together with your team.

We also imagine that you:

• - Have minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing technical teams
• Bring a strong technical background within automation, electrical engineering, or a similar field, combined with hands-on experience in both hardware and software design
• Are structured and capable of creating clarity and overview in complex project environments with multiple ongoing activities
• Have strong planning and resource management skills, enabling you to prioritize effectively and ensure successful project execution
• Communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders across functions and organizational levels
• Take a solution-oriented approach and are comfortable setting direction while supporting your team in delivering robust and scalable solutions

Have experience working in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift, and where adaptability is key to success

• Are fluent in English, as it is DESMI’s corporate language
