Monil is building world-leading technology for virtual fencing and livestock monitoring. In just three years, we’ve grown to thousands of customers and tens of thousands collars in active use across multiple markets. We are now entering a new phase of international growth — and the scalability and reliability of our backend platform will be critical to our success.
Our technology is trusted by forward-thinking farmers, research institutions, and agricultural organizations across several countries. Every day, thousands of animals rely on our systems running smoothly.
Our devices collect large amounts of real-time data from animals in the field. We process, analyze, and transform this data into actionable insights that improve animal welfare, farming efficiency, and sustainability. Behind this is a modern, cloud-based backend platform built for performance, resilience, and scale.
We're now looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who wants to help us build a reliable platform, scaling across the globe.
Strong experience with AWS and Kubernetes
Experience with building and maintaining CD pipelines and deployment strategies
Experience running and maintaining PostgreSQL databases
Experience with networks
Experience with monitoring and alerting using tools such as Prometheus and OpenTelemetry
Fluency in Norwegian (preferred, but we make exceptions for the exceptional)
Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment
Heavy use of Kubernetes (EKS)
Large PostgreSQL databases
Terraform, ArgoCD, LinkerD, Alloy, Tempo and more
Join a high-growth startup entering an exciting international scale-up phase. You won’t just write code, you’ll own features and initiatives, influence technical decisions, and help build the foundation of a growing company. Nevertheless your work will create meaningful impact by improving animal welfare, farming efficiency, and global sustainability. You’ll collaborate with a highly interdisciplinary team across hardware, embedded systems, backend, and frontend. We offer a competitive salary, including an option program.
Candidates must have the right to work in Norway or within the EU/EEA, as we are unable to support relocation or visa sponsorship from outside this area.
If you're excited about building technology that makes a real-world difference, we’d love to hear from you.
Accelerate the worlds transition to sustainable agriculture by automating animal care.
We design and build high-tech smart collars that benefits both farmer, animal and environment:
- The farmer saves time and money on building fences and animal feed
- The animals spend less time inside and more time grazing on open pastures
- The smart collars enable grazing techniques that boost soil health and reduce the need for artificial fertilizer
