Shape AS in Skodje is looking for an experienced CNC programmer to join our five-person team. We deliver precision machining for demanding industrial and defence projects, and you'll have direct influence over how we build and produce.
We're looking for someone who's self-driven, hands-on, and takes real ownership of their work. You're comfortable figuring things out independently, communicate clearly with the rest of the team, and enjoy solving problems as they come up on the shop floor. This role rewards people who like to automate repetitive tasks and think about production with a heuristic mindset --- spotting patterns and better ways of doing things rather than just following a fixed process. We value initiative and a genuine interest in your craft as much as years on paper --- if you're strong in some areas and still growing in others, we're open to that.
That said, here's what typically makes someone succeed in this role:
Experience as a CNC programmer using CAM (3+ years is a good guideline, not a hard cutoff --- training in NX CAM specifically will be provided if you have strong CAM experience on other platforms)
Strong understanding of CAD and machining principles
Comfortable working independently, at pace, and meeting tight deadlines
Good problem-solving instincts and interest in technical challenges
Strong communication skills
As a CNC Programmer with us, you will:
You'll work closely with the rest of the team to push production forward, and you'll see the results of your work on the shop floor quickly.
Shape AS is a precision CNC job shop based in Skodje, delivering 3D modeling, prototyping, product development, reverse engineering, and mold/tooling production. Our five-person team works with modern machinery and technology across a wide range of industries, from vacuum forming and composite tooling to metal casting and complex machining. Our work regularly supports UAV, and other high-precision industrial projects. We're a small, close-knit team where every person's work is visible and valued. As we grow, we're looking for people who want real ownership over what they build, not just a seat in a large hierarchy.
